Mt. Moriah Women
The United Methodist Women are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Regular Events
Mt. Moriah’s United Methodist Women’s group meets six times each year as a whole and monthly in smaller Bible studies, called circles.
The United Methodist Women (UMW) meets on the first Monday of the months of February, March, May, September, November and December. These meetings are open to all women for an evening of fellowship, inspiration and information. Devotions, music and programs are designed specifically for women’s interests.
Once a year, we try to gather on or off site for a Women’s Retreat -a dedicated “time-away” of spiritual reawakening and fellowship.
Special Programs
Call to Prayer and Self Denial
This annual observance gives local and district units a chance to study and reflect on a particular theme each year and to designate funds for ministries related to the theme for the year.World Thank Offering
An opportunity for individuals to respond to God’s abundance and grace with spontaneous gifts of gratitude. The funds collected are used in the total program of mission carried on through UMW’s national office in the United States and around the world.
Circle Meetings
Smaller, more intimate groups called Circles meet separately from our General Meeting. Each circle has a Bible study and a mission project to work on throughout the year. We currently have two circles open to women of all ages and stages of life to accommodate our varied schedules:

We support international charities through UMCOR, local charities such as Sauls’ homeless shelter, Southeastern Ecumenical Ministries (SEM) and Inter Parish Ministry food pantries.
