Mission Outreach of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church
“We love because God first loved us”.
The people of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church show this love through all programs of the church.
The Mission Outreach is the church program that carries this love to those in need:
down the street,
in the Greater Cincinnati Area,
in another state,
in another country!
Mt. Moriah’s caring community is sharing faith and changing lives.
Here are a few of the many opportunities to be involved in helping others . . .
Here and in our own backyard:
-
The Ark of Learning, part of the Family Ministries at Mt. Moriah, provides safe, comforting and nurturing care for infants through pre-kindergarten children.
-
Knitting & crocheting items for others. Beginners and experienced welcome. And there’s almost always someone there to help when we come across a difficult pattern or instruction. Prayer shawls, lap blankets, walker bags, hats, scarves, mittens, baby items, afghans, along with some fabric creations (baby bibs, bears, etc) provided to local care centers, senior centers, missions and hospitals.
-
The Almost Mature Adults (AMA) group is open to folks who fall into the “empty nester” to “post-retirement” category. We’d love to have you join us for dinner, dessert and devotion. Each gathering has a different “Acts of Kindness” Ministry focus, which serves to benefit others.
-
General monthly meeting open to any man of any age. Fellowship, support, food and diverse projects; e.g., Spaghetti Dinner, golf outings, Steak & Chicken Fry, Soup/Chili Fest. Contributing to many missions and offering a new student stipend for student members who are High School graduates attending their first year of college.
-
The Women of Faith (formerly United Methodist Women) are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Fall through Spring, monthly general meetings are held for ALL women and once a month there are 2 smaller groups of women who meet for learning, service, and support.
-
Sharing God's message through interpretive signing to a wide variety of music. Everyone from the very young (elementary school) to the not so young, but willing to learn are welcome!
-
If you haven’t seen it, there is a blessing box, holding food and personal items along with a place for prayer requests, located at the end of the sidewalk on the east end of the Learning Center.
“Take what you need, leave what you can” is the mission of this box and everyone is invited to stop by and put items in the box even when we are not collecting specifically for our supply. And if you or someone you know is in need, PLEASE stop by and pick up a few things or direct them to the resource. This is a ministry of love, meeting a physical need in our community.

Each year, Mt. Moriah UMC works through the Child Focus organization to identify local families in need. For the families we support, Child Focus provides us with a tailored list of gift suggestions for each child in the family. Our goal is to purchase clothing, shoes, undergarments, diapers, coats (if needed) and toys for each child. Additionally, a generous monetary gift to be used for the purchase of food and household goods, as well as a Bible, are provided to each family.
